A "leap second" has been added to 2008. The world's official timekeepers have tagged it on to the last day of the year (tomorrow) to match up with the slow down of the Earth's spin on its axis.

Will they then start the count down on New Year's even from 11 - 10 - 9 - 8 - etc.?
